The debate is real - but anyone in NJ knows it is Taylor ham. This yummy, salty breakfast side, has been a favorite breakfast sandwich ingredient in our family. Be it on a fresh Jersey bagel, Italian toast or even potato bread, add an egg or not, cheese - totally up to you - it just hits the spot.
At the Jersey shore, we have a crowd so making breakfast sandwiches are an easy way to serve the masses and stay well for the college kids that arise well after "breakfast" time.
While we prefer to use the Blackstone, the griddle pan served its purpose. Cook the Taylor ham (or the meat of your choice like bacon or breakfast sausage). Butter your bread and start toasting. Place cheese so it can start melting. We prepared a large batch of scrambled eggs to make the assembly go quicker, but feel free to make to order your egg of choice. Then start the assembly line. Wrap in foil to keep warm. Enjoy! 😊
